Our Story

Our property is located at Chinchilla on the Darling Downs and is owned and operated by Wally and Jill Gleeson. In recent times the property has undergone a capital improvement programme with the implementation of improved pastures and an upgrade of facilities. We are now starting to reap the benefits from this programme through the development and conditioning of our horses in a quality and safe environment.
Wally has enjoyed a lifetime association with horses; more specifically as a polocrosse player, successful amateur jockey, including wins in two Corinthian Handicaps at Eagle Farm, breaker, owner and trainer.
He is renowned for his judgment in the selection of horses with sound conformation, and he is skilled in identifying strengths and weaknesses for performance potential when selecting horses at sale.
His role in the business involves day to day management of stud stock welfare, including handling of foals and weanlings, feeding, transport arrangements between studs, and undertaking yearling preparation.
Wally’s & Jill’s sons, Jacob, Simon & Tom are active and enthusiastic partners in GTC. Like Wally their lives have revolved around horses from a young age, with experiences in the outback Queensland town of Charleville leading to all three boys becoming competent horsemen. Whilst they are now all established in their chosen professions in the medical and business worlds, they all have a very hands-on role in the business and are extremely passionate about the thoroughbred industry.
