Nothing To Lose (USA) is again in the spotlight with yet another winner.
Venture On saluted the judge in hot QTIS 3YO Handicap at the Sunshine Coast over 1400 metres on Wednesday.
The win was made a little sweeter with Nothing To Lose’s only other runner, Epic Terra, just edged out for second place in photo from Danish Whiskey who started as favourite.
Venture On started from barrier fifteen in a sixteen horse race and settled towards the back of field for most of the journey. On the turn he made a move to the outside and showed blistering speed to mow down the leaders, one of those being Epic Terra.
Venture On has now had 6 starts for 3 wins and 1 third while Epic Terra has had 6 starts for 2 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third. Both horses have been ultra consistent to date and are showing a high level of ability.
The outlook is very promising for the owners and trainers of these horses with some nice Black Type races coming up over the Brisbane Winter Carnival. Venture On’s win follows a recent first start win by another Nothing To Lose gelding, I’m Busted, at Ipswich last Friday.
Breeders mulling over stallion nominations this season should consider Nothing To Lose and delve into his stud and race statistics.
From a mere 22 starters he has had numerous winners and placegetters on provincial and metropolitan tracks as well a 2YO stakes winner in New Zealand at the back end of last year.
The feedback from trainers of Nothing To Lose’s progeny has been very positive and they are extremely impressed with their toughness and willingness to win. Nothing To Lose stands at Queensland’s Willowbend Stud at a fee of $7,700.
